Despite how massive LA is, an in depth, one-week itinerary that highlights some of the best parts can be fairly easy to map out. Check out these travel plans you absolutely must take on during your first time in Los Angeles.

Although Los Angeles isn’t home to Disneyland, right downtown sits the Walt Disney Concert Hall, one of Frank Gehry's classic designs and home to the La Phil, a spectacular show.

LA City itself has a lot to offer, and for this reason we think you should explore these main areas during your trip:

Downtown, The Westside, The Valley, The Port, the Canyons and Mountains that connect them all.

Tip: Best time to visit is all year.

One: Discover what made hollywood, Hollywood on the iconic Walk of Fame

The West Side.

The West Side is really just anything that is west of Downtown. Everyone has their own definition.

To start, Hollywood makes it easy with a milieu of landmarks and cultural centers that bring us together from all around the world. Click below to check 12 epic Hollywood Landmark revivals where we discuss how some of Hollywood’s most iconic landmarks have been restored and brought back to life over the years!

Parking may cost you as much as $40 an hour depending on where you park. There is some non-metered parking in the neighborhoods, but good luck! You can also take the B Line on the LA Metro to the Hollywood Vine, Highland, and Western Stations. Check out the Westside/Central Metro map here.

EXT. The TCL Chinese Theatre:

The TCL Chinese Theatre is a famous movie palace which has hosted premieres of Hollywood's biggest hits. The TCL Chinese Theatre also boasts it’s own Walk of Fame, where many famous actors and actresses have ruffed the dust and stamped their signature, or hands and feet in the cement. Look out for Star Wars creator George Lucas and cast, George Clooney, Will Smith and many more. Opened in 1927 the theater could accommodate north of 2,000 audience members; at the time a number that could only be rivaled by the Million Dollar Theater in downtown.

You can find musicians, dancers, and other entertainers performing along the walk, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The sounds and lights will have your head on swivel!

Nearby Hollywood & Highland Center is a shopping and entertainment complex that features a number of stores, restaurants, and other attractions like The Guitar Center Rock walk, displaying some of the greatest artists of all time like Jimi Hendrix, the Ramones, Alice Cooper and more.

We recommend to finish the day by stopping the nearby Roosevelt Hotel’s Tropicana bar for a cocktail by the pool and a bite to eat. During the daytime bring your swimsuit because a pool party many ensue.

Two: get one of the best behind the scenes look at Universal Studios

The Valley.

Universal studios is hands down the best place to explore for an authentic inside look at how Hollywood has grown and achieved some incredible productions. The tours at universal studio give you an insiders take on Hollywood history and allow you to keep up with what’s actually happening behind the scenes in real time. INT. Studio Tour:

Start your day with the Studio Tour, a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a Hollywood movie studio. You'll see the real sets and sound stages, that made Hollywood TV and movie history.

Take for example the RV mobile lab that was eventually flung off a cliff by the T-Rex’s. With half the RV hanging from the cliff, beneath one characters’ body weight a window shield is a slowly collapsing with nothing between her and the rocks several 100s of meters below. Stephen Spielbergs’ first Jurassic Park, The Lost World was sure a thriller that had us on on edge.

So many more originals litter Universal’s Studio Tour. From the New York City neighborhood sets to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, or Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Fast and Furious fans will be spun out on and exhilarating tour combines fun and information with thrill.

A Fast pass is a great investment for this park and will pay off during your visit. Especially while waiting for a reservation for the Stufio tour

INT. World of Harry Potter:

End your day with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a must-see for any fan of the magical series. It will take you a bit to get through Hogwarts Castle, Ollivanders Wand Shop, and take down a cold Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks.
