The Best Breweries in Nashville
Nashville, the city of hot chicken and country music, is teeming with a plethora of craft breweries, each with their own unique styles and flavors. To help you choose among Music City’s dozens of breweries and taprooms, we brewed up a list of our Nashville favorites. Each of these breweries was chosen based on their great atmosphere, interesting venue design and, of course, the quality of their beer.
The Best Breweries in Nashville:
1. TAILGATE BREWERY (7300 Charlotte Pike, Nashville)
2. MONDAY NIGHT BREWING (1308 Adams Street, Nashville)
3. YEE-HAW BREWING (423 6th Avenue S, Nashville)
TAILGATE BREWERY (7300 Charlotte Pike, Nashville)
TailGate is our favorite brewery in Nashville. They have a fun vibe and awesome backyard with lovely views of lush tree covered hills (and a quarry if you’re into that sort of thing), perfect for warm evening gatherings. The interior is very colorful with cartoon-style wall art featuring pop-culture characters - not in a cheesy way though. But if you DO want something cheesy, try their pizza…mmmm….it’s delicious!
Their Beer: They always have a wide variety of different types of good beers, not just IPAs.
Our Favorite Pizza: S’Mores Pizza (yes, you read that correctly)
Highlight of the Brewery: Awesome back patio area with a view.
Fun Tip: Typically, they have movie nights on the weekends (suspended during COVID-19).
Drink and Food Menu: Check out their webpage.
MONDAY NIGHT BREWING (1308 Adams Street, Nashville)
You know how everyone has always wondered what it’d be like to sip a brew in an abandoned factory (am I right or am I right?)? Well, the answer to your ponderings is about to be revealed! Monday Night Brewing is literally intertwined with the ruins of an old meat packing facility - truly one of the more unique brewery settings in Nashville. A visit to Monday Night Brewing can feel like wandering through the ruins of a crumbling industrial era while, more importantly, trying some choice beers. Also, it’s one of the few cool places in Nashville where you can actually hang along the river.
Highlight of the Brewery: Very interesting taproom architecture.
Drink and Food Menu: Check out their webpage.
YEE-HAW BREWING (423 6th Avenue S, Nashville)
As you’d expect from its name, Yee-Haw Brewing is a pretty wild place. Unlike the other breweries on our list, Yee-Haw has a much more pronounced “big-bar” party aura, which makes sense given its proximity to all the Broadway Street chaos. To keep their sports fans satisfied, Yee-Haw has not one, but two enormous screens playing whatever game is on (Titans, if they’re playing, obviously). Also, the venue is pretty kid friendly, providing plenty of entertainment for the younger generation, such as ping pong, corn hole, foosball and dueling basketball hoops.
Highlight of the Brewery: Big screens for watching the game. Go Titans!
Food Tip: The permanent hotdog stand in Yee-Haw Brewing, Daddy’s Dogs, serves arguably the best gourmet hotdogs in all of Nashville.
Bonus: This venue is shared by the Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Distillery, which offers tastings onsite for you moonshine connoisseurs out there.

BEARDED IRIS - Sylvan Supply (4101 Charlotte Avenue Suite 40, Nashville)
Bearded Iris’s satellite brewhouse has a great modern vibe with an excellent outdoor drinking patio. We recommend you try their famous Homestyle IPA, but, if you’re feeling experimental, Bearded Iris has got you covered. They use this location for exploratory, small-batch brews and there are always a lot of options on tap.
Highlight of the Brewery: Experimental beers only served at this location.
Recommended Drink: Homestyle IPA or something small batch.
Bonus: They have partnered with Black Dynasty Secret Ramen House, meaning you can consume the two best things in the world, beer and ramen!
Drink and Food Menu: Check out their webpage.
FAT BOTTOM (800 44th Avenue N, Nashville)
Fat Bottom is another deep west Nashville favorite and one of the first craft breweries to hit the scene before the explosion of Nashvegas’ nightlife. Some highlights: solid selection of different types of beers, large doggy friendly outside area and beautiful views of the brewery floor from a second story lounge. The large outside area has grassy spaces and typically corn hole set up, perfect for a chill brew-drinking sesh.
Highlight of the Brewery: The brewery tour, which includes 4 beer tastings. Reservations can be made on their webpage or by calling.
Bonus Tour/Tasting: Next door is Pennington Distillery, where you can do tastings and tours.
Beer Menu: Check out their webpage.
